Afactor was founded by two women with backgrounds at, among others, the Swedish Security Service, the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Economic Crime Authority.
The founders of Afactor have extensive experience in advanced security work within the Swedish Security Service, the Police Authority and the Swedish Economic Crime Authority.
Both entered the police later in life, after previous careers and studies in other fields. That experience contributed to an early outsider perspective and an ability to quickly take responsibility, make sound decisions, and navigate complex environments.
They came to know each other through operational work within the Swedish Security Service, where they worked closely together on demanding and sensitive assignments. Their collaboration was built on trust, complementary expertise, and a shared view of professionalism.
Their backgrounds include leading roles in counterterrorism, intelligence gathering, and operational crime prevention, with a strong foundation in analysis, method development, and high-level cooperation.
Afactor is a natural extension of this way of working. The company combines a cohesive security offering in investigation, protection, and resilience with deep experience from security-critical operations.
The approach is characterized by professionalism, integrity, and operational understanding, where analysis takes precedence over prestige and collaboration over hierarchy.

Maria was previously a police commissioner at the Swedish Security Service. As section manager at the counterterrorism unit, she had overall responsibility for assessing prioritized terrorist threats to the security of the Kingdom of Sweden and the central city leadership. Before that, Maria was for several years section manager at the Intelligence Department, with responsibility for, among other things, HUMINT.
Throughout the years, she has actively participated in the development of methods and operations in various areas of activity.
Maria was previously a police commissioner at the Swedish Security Service. Anna was previously a police commissioner and head of the operational unit at the Swedish Economic Crime Authority in Stockholm. She represented the authority in the Regional Coordination Council, a joint initiative against serious organised crime.
Anna has also worked at the Swedish Security Service, both in the counterterrorism unit and as a group manager in the Intelligence Department. Her broad experience also includes service as a response police officer and fraud investigator with the Swedish Police Authority.
